Revered Guruji  Dr.Chandra Bhanu Satpathy is an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba and a household name all over the World. He is currently playing a pioneer role  in the creation of spiritual literature of excellence retired as a Director General of Police (IPS) from the state of Uttar Pradesh. As a creative writer from his childhood, Shri Satpathy had written humorous and satirical literature which has been highly praised by Shri.Faturanand, the well established writer of that time. These stories and satires used to be published regularly in leading Odia literary magazines of Odisha like Asantakali and Dagara. Two of his humorous and satirical story collections captioned “Hasyankura” and “Kichchi Hasa, Kichchita Bidrupa” were published in 1980. Later a compilation of some of his selected stories were published in a book captioned “Eka Dashakara Ramya Rachana”. Besides, many of his writings in English and Hindi languages were published in newspapers and journals and were widely appreciated.

After his devotional attachment with Sadguru Shri Shirdi Sai Baba in 1989 (Sai Baba attained Maha Samadhi in 1918) his innate divine consciousness got illuminated. Thereafter, he engaged himself with the task of creating literature and music related to Shri Sai Baba. He was also instrumental in the creation of more than two hundred Shirdi Sai Baba temples all over the world and has been continously palying the role of a guide in order to reach out the Sai movement to a larger population in the world.

Books authored by him in English like “Shirdi Sai Baba and other Perect Masters”, “Baba May I Answer” etc have been in wide circulation. They have been translated in many regional languages in India like Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, Odia, Telugu etc. The Aartis (devotional songs) of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, originally written in Marathi language have been translated by him in Odia language. His book captioned “Naivedya Shri Sai Charanare” containing devotional bhajans and prayers in Hindi is a literary creation worth mentioning. Besides many CD’s and Cassettes containing Bhajans dedicated to Shirdi Sai Baba in Hindi and Odia languages, three CD’s by the name of “Shri Jagannath-Stabaka”, “Shri Jagannath Mahima” and “Shri Guru Bhagavat” containing devotional songs written and composed by him have been released. Further three CD’s on devotional music written and composed by him named “Living witih Sai”, “Aao Sai” and “Tubhyam Namami” have been released by the ‘Times Music’. Recently a CD named “Shri Sai Nathaya Namah Namah” written and composed by him was released by ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ group. In the CD’s “Tubhyam Namami” released by ‘Times Music’ and “Shri Sai Nathaya Namah Namah” released by the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma” group, he has also lent his voice besides writing the lyrics and composing music. This is a unique feature of his musicality.

In the year 2010, his Odia spiritual-science-based treatise “Gopyaru Agopya” and its translated version in Sanskrit language captioned “ShriShtitattwanuchintanam” were published. This book has been highly acclaimed by academicians and scholars of Odisha and outside Odisha. This book contains the theory of the cration of the Universe. It stands like a lamp post simultaneously illuminating the two paths of knowledge and devotion for the guidance of the spiritual seekers.

The Treatise “Shri Guru Bhagavat” published in the year 2011 in four parts was written in Odia language by Shri.Chandra Bhanu Satpathyji. The first of the four volumes of this great work by Shri Satpathyji has been translated and published in Hindi as there was lot of demand from the Hindi speaking belt. Similarly the publication of the English translated version of the first volume of Shri Guru Bhagavat in the year 2013 will be immensely helpful to the English speaking readers. There is no doubt that in the field of devotional literature, the release of “Shri Guru Bhagavat” created by the inspiration of the Sadguru will reawaken the ancient Bhagavat tradition not only in Orisha but all over India.

Dr.Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Guruji was honoured by Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust (Shirdi) on 20th August 2015 for his contribution in  spreading Shri Sai Baba’s Life and Teachings in India and at many places around the world and also for playing an important role in building many Sai Temples all over the world.
